A moment for you
A space to breathe, reflect, process and feel heard
Integrative Counselling
What You Can Expect
Every person arrives with their own story, and the support that feels right for one person may look very different for another. My approach is flexible and integrative, drawing from a range of therapeutic methods so we can shape a way of working that fits you. Whether you’re facing something immediate, trying to understand long‑standing patterns, or simply wanting a space where you can breathe and be heard, our sessions will evolve around your needs.
A Space That Feels Safe
Starting counselling can feel like a big step, especially if you’re unsure what the experience will be like. You’ll be met with a calm, grounded atmosphere where you can settle in at your own pace. There’s no expectation, no judgment, just a calm space where whatever you bring is welcome.
A Natural, Human Conversation
Our time together won’t feel like an interview. It’s a conversation shaped by you. You choose what feels comfortable to share, and I’ll gently guide where it’s helpful. You don’t need to have everything figured out. My role is to listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, and help you explore your thoughts and feelings with compassion.
Your First Session
Our first meeting is an opportunity to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s brought you here, what you’re hoping for, and anything you’d like to ask. It’s a gentle starting point, a chance to see whether working together feels like a good fit.
Understanding Your Journey
As we work together, we’ll look at the experiences that have shaped you, both the ones unfolding now and those from earlier in life that may still echo today. Some sessions may focus on the present moment; others may explore deeper layers. This process can help us make sense of what feels tangled and open up new ways of moving forward.
Working Together
Counselling isn’t about being given instructions. It’s a collaborative process where we explore what feels right for you. That might mean gaining new insights, developing coping tools, or simply having a consistent space where you can express yourself freely. We’ll go at a pace that feels steady and manageable.

Echo Brook was created from a simple intention: to offer a counselling space that feels steady, human, and genuinely supportive. The name reflects two ideas at the heart of the work. Echo speaks to the experience of being heard, not just listened to. To be understood in a way that allows your thoughts and feelings to land and be reflected back with clarity. Brook represents movement and continuity: the way life flows, sometimes smoothly, sometimes with disruption, and how support can help you navigate those shifts.
Together, Echo Brook symbolises a place where your experiences can be explored at a pace that feels manageable, with someone alongside you who is attentive, grounded, and committed to your wellbeing. It’s a practice built on warmth, care, and the belief that meaningful change often begins with having a safe space to talk.
Echo Brook and Me
Some people come to counselling knowing exactly what they want to talk about. Others aren’t sure where to begin. Both are completely okay. Whatever you’re bringing, you won’t be facing it alone.
This counselling space is yours. We can talk together about what you feel might work best for you, and explore things at a pace that feels steady and manageable. My aim is to offer a warm, welcoming environment - somewhere you can settle, breathe, and feel safe enough to share what matters to you.
I’m Zena, a counsellor who works in a calm and collaborative way. I’m here to listen closely and support you without pressure or expectation. I won’t lead you or tell you what your path should look like. Instead, I’ll walk alongside you, offering reflection and curiosity as you make sense of your experiences.
My hope is that this becomes a space where you feel heard, understood and supported.
Whether you're dealing with anxiety, stress, feeling overwhelmed, or navigating life changes such as bereavement, redundancy, or relationship challenges, I am here to listen.

Sessions are a space for you to talk about whatever feels important. We’ll explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at a pace that feels comfortable. Some sessions may focus on what’s happening in your life right now, while others may look at patterns or past experiences that still feel present today.
-
Sessions last 50 minutes. This gives us enough time to explore what’s coming up while keeping the work contained and manageable.
-
There’s no set number. Some people come for a short period to work through something specific, while others prefer longer‑term therapy. We’ll review things together as we go so you always feel in control of the process.
-
It’s completely normal to feel unsure or anxious. Many people feel this way at first. The first session is simply a chance to meet, talk about what’s brought you here, and see whether working together feels like a good fit.
-
You can get in touch through the contact form or email to arrange an initial phone call. From there, we’ll find a regular time that works for you.
-
Counselling can support you with a wide range of experiences, including anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship difficulties, self‑esteem, life transitions, grief, trauma, or simply feeling stuck. You don’t need a diagnosis or a label to benefit from therapy.
-
Not at all. You don’t need to arrive with a plan. Some people come with something specific in mind; others just know they’re struggling and want support. We can start wherever you are.
-
You’re free to stop at any time. There’s no pressure to continue if it doesn’t feel helpful. We can also talk about any concerns or uncertainties so you feel supported in making the right decision for you.
-
Most people come weekly, as it helps build momentum and consistency. However, we can discuss what feels right for you and your circumstances.
